William Nylander Sounds Off on Team Sweden with Some Harsh Comments
William Nylander and Team Sweden are facing a big challenge at the 4 Nations Faceoff and frustration is beginning to show for the Swedish team.
After back-to-back overtime losses to Canada and Finland, Team Sweden's chances of making the final are very slim since they must beat Team USA in regulation.
And even if they win in regulation, they need to hope that the Canada-Finland game goes to overtime to advance in final.
What does William Nylander really think of the performance of Team Sweden during the 4 Nations Faceoff
Following Sweden's second staright OT loss, Willy Nylander didn't sugarcoat his disappointment during the interview:
"I mean, it's not great. We have two OT losses in two games. So, I mean, we just gotta regroup here and play the game against USA [to win]. And hopefully the scores go our way."
When he was asked about losing to Finland which is Sweden's biggest rival in this type of tournament, he shut down any media exaggeration by keeping things simple and saying the real things.
"I mean, you guys build up the rivalry as if it's something crazy. But I mean, it's just, we just hate losing."
Through two games in the 4 Nations Faceoff, Willy Nylander has just one assist and he will need to be at his best against a stacked American team that has already clinched a spot in the final.
Sweden will need their stars like William Nylander, Elias Pettersson and Victor Hedman to play their best game and find a way to win in regulation to keep their tournament hopes alive.
