Utah Hockey Club Finally Make Massive Decision For The Future Name of The Franchise

When the NHL announced they would head to Salt Lake City, many fans were excited about a new franchise, but it won't be until 2025/26 that the team finally get an official name, with the team taking voting on the final name throughout this season.

After taking one of the finalists off the list due to backlash, the team settled on Utah Hockey Club, Utah Mammoth and Utah Outlaws, allowing fans at their home games vote for the future of the organization.

Now, they have reportedly found their new name, with Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports reporting that while we don't yet know when it will be announced, the decision internally has been officially made.

While many on social media voiced their support of Outlaws, it may be the Mammoth that is the favourite at this point, as a post on X has revealed that out of the three potential names, Mammoth is the only one whose trademark got an extension.

This may not give us our answer officially, as the organization could be working their way through a new trademark now, but given how vigilant the NHL and the Utah Hockey Club have been thus far, this could be our biggest indicator yet of what the new team will be named.

After the team gave their final three names, fans were excited about all the options, and if done right, any of the options should work to make this team a very unique and special one moving forward, and while we may not hear until the end of the regular season, internally, it appears as though the organization have made up their mind and will work towards the change for 2025/26.
