Canucks Fans Hit With Unexpected Update on Bowen Byram Trade Talk

One of the most talked-about names that is still being shopped is Buffalo Sabres defenseman Bowen Byram, who has yet to find a new home on the trade market.
Byram, who was picked up by the Sabres in a trade with the Colorado Avalanche in 2024, filed for salary arbitration, meaning that he can't receive any offer sheets.
NHL analyst David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period re-ignited interest on the part of Canucks fans when he recently discussed Vancouver's alleged interest in Byram, though also saying if something does happen, it would likely come "out of left field" now.
So, with the Canucks, I think it was real more so in the season than it was this past June. But honestly, for me, it would probably be something coming out of left field once all is said and done if something does happen with the Canucks.

Sabres GM Kevyn Adams recently said that he remains open to dealing Byram but that he's also not in a hurry to trade him, because he can help their team.

Byram had 38 points (7G, 31A) in all 82 games for the Sabres this year, who once again missed the playoffs for the 14th straight year.
