Elliotte Friedman Reveals New Details On JT Miller's Leave of Absence Taken from Canucks
NHL insider Elliotte Friedman revealed some new information about why JT Miller left the Canucks earlier this season.
The Vancouver Canucks have famously been through a lot of drama this season.
Part of that drama came in November, when JT Miller took a leave of absence from the team.
For months fans have been speculating as to why that happened, and it seems to be related to the rumored feud between Miller and his teammates, most notably Elias Pettersson.
Now NHL insider Elliotte Friedman has revealed a new detail about Miller's absence, saying that something happened after the Canucks game against the Nashville Predators on November 17th, a 5-3 loss.
"They had the Nashville game and whatever happened after that game, and I've heard a couple different versions, and nobody will confirm it so I'm not gonna say it. But whatever the case was J.T. Miller went on his leave.
When Miller came back from his leave things just didn't get better in terms of the relationship and the stress and things like that. I think everybody hoped he would come back and things would change and they didn't. I think that was when the decision was made... that they were gonna move on." The next few months were horrible for the Canucks as the team fell out of a playoff spot and continued to struggle with the rumors and drama.
This ultimately resulted in the team trading Miller to the New York Rangers.
Unfortunately for the team, the deal does not appear to have solved everything though.
Now, new reports have emerged suggesting that the rest of the Canucks players are not happy with the move.
As a result, we could very well see more mediocre hockey and discontentment surrounding the team for the rest of the season. We'll just have to see how they perform down the stretch.
