The J.T. Miller saga appears to be coming to an end in Vancouver, and now, Elliotte Friedman has named a shocking team that may swoop in and land him in the form of another Eastern Conference contender, the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Rangers weren't the only team interested in Miller however, as Elliotte Friedman has now shockingly named the Carolina Hurricanes as a team that make sense for the disgruntled forward on the latest episode of the 32 Thoughts podcast.
"I think there's somebody out there right now we're just not seeing yet. One team I do wonder about is Carolina. That's a team that makes more sense to me."
While the Hurricanes have a star on their top line in Sebastian Aho, they've relied on Jack Drury as their 2C thus far in 2024/25, and while he's a great player, upgrading to Miller alongside Martin Necas and Jack Roslovic on that line would be an incredible move.
In the report, Friedman also names the Dallas Stars as a team that could be involved in negotiations, and given the depth that they've got throughout the organization, adding more star power in the form of Miller makes them a Stanley Cup favourite in the Western Conference.
Ultimately, the race for Miller appears to be heating up, with New York, New Jersey and Boston were all teams linked to the superstar 31-year old in recent weeks, and with all of these teams having intriguing blue line pieces to tempt Vancouver, don't be shocked to see at least four teams offering deals to the Canucks in the coming weeks.
