Elias Pettersson has been under the spotlight even more than usual this season in Vancouver.
This is largely to do with his ongoing feud with teammate JT Miller, which has become an open secret at this point.
The Canucks were hoping that this issue would resolve itself, but it seemingly hasn't.
Both players have been in trade rumors basically all season long and apparently at least one offer has already been made.
The Athletic reporter Josh Yohe reported earlier this month that the Canucks turned down an offer from the New York Rangers for JT Miller.
Now we can expect even more rumors and offers being made as the Canucks look to mend their broken culture.
It seems like their only options are to trade either Elias Pettersson or JT Miller.
According to Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal, the team is garnering interest from around the league for Pettersson.
Specifically, he mentioned the Columbus Blue Jackets as being interested, noting that they have both young players and the prospects required to land a player like Pettersson without doing serious damage to their future.
The Canucks would certainly want draft picks as part of the return, and the Blue Jackets have that covered with 4 1st round picks over the next three seasons.
They also have a healthy prosect pool highlighted with players like Gavin Brindley and Denton Mateychuk.
The team certainly has the pieces to pull off a deal, so we will just have to wait and see what Don Waddell does.
