A scary scene involving Vancouver Canucks forward Filip Chytil occurred in last night's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.

It hasn't been a smooth ride for the Vancouver Canucks this season. After some injuries, struggles on the ice, and a feud between two players took the spotlight away from the team, they made some massive changes to the roster and are now looking to bounce back from a tough year and make it to the playoffs.
Last night, they had a big opportunity to get back into playoff contention, as they were facing the Chicago Blackhawks, one of the worst teams in the league this year, and a win would give the Canucks an edge in the standings over the Calgary Flames.
Fortunately for Rick Tocchet and his men, they beat the Blackhawks 6-2 and are now officially holding on to the last wild-card playoff spot in the Western Conference, two points ahead of the Calgary Flames and St. Louis Blues.
However, the Canucks lost an important player to an injury near the end of the game.
Acquired in the trade sending J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, Filip Chytil had to retreat to the locker room following a massive hit on the boards from Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson.
The Hawks' center sent Chytil into the boards right after he got rid of the puck, and the Canucks forward needed time before getting back on his skates.
Check out how it went down in the following video:
It's always worrying to see a player with such an extensive concussion history, like Chytil, being hurt that way.
On the play, no penalty was called. However, a decision from the NHL's Department of Player Safety could be announced today.
The Canucks will be back on the ice tonight to face another direct opponent in the playoff race: the Utah Hockey Club.
