Ovechkin scores highlight-reel goal during farewell game for former teammate in Russia
Alexander Ovechkin was back in Russia on Wednesday alongside some current and former NHLers for a farewell game to honour long-time KHL forward Danis Zaripov.
During the shootout at farewell game, Alexander Ovechkin scored one of the best goals you may ever see.
Ovechkin skates in with the puck and just as he passes the hashmarks in front of the goaltender, he goes between the legs and fires the puck bar down into the net.

It certainly looks like Ovechkin is in top form heading into the 2023-24 season. Ovechkin needs 72 goals to tie and 73 goals to pass Wayne Gretzky to become the NHL's all-time leading goal scorer and with three years remaining on his contract, there's no doubt in anyone's mind that he'll be able to reach that feat.
