Alex Ovechkin Continues His Goal Record Celebration In Iconic Fashion

After two decades of chasing, Alex Ovechkin finally made NHL history on Sunday as he became the greatest goal scorer in NHL history, and immediately, the game was stopped to celebrate this iconic moment.

Everyone from Gary Bettman to Wayne Gretzky to countless celebrities paid their tributes and praise to The Great 8, and after the game, the celebrations continued hard into the Capitals locker room.

The celebrations didn't stop quickly however, as Ovechkin wanted to celebrate in style, as he was later seen arriving at his favourite restaurant while his favourite song was playing, and quickly upon arrival, the legendary Russian was handed two beers to keep the celebrations rolling.

The Washington Capitals captain has never been an example of perfect health in the NHL or the fittest player in the league, and unsurprisingly he loves to party and life his life the way he does away from the ice, and while some may not like that, Ovi has been unapologetically himself throughout his entire career.

This is yet another example of that, and at 39-years of age, fans on social media are loving seeing the veteran legend celebrate in the way he wants, especially after all his hard work paid off with NHL history.

Now, with 895 under his belt, Ovechkin has at least another year in the NHL, and if he can play at the same level he did in 2024/25, he may truly make the goal scoring record an unbreakable one moving forward.
