New training video of Alex Ovechkin showing just how much he's aged

Time does not slow down for anybody and perfect example of that is a Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin. It's becoming increasingly clear that his time in the NHL is dwindling, but seeing him move so slowly as camps and the preseason begins is disheartening nonetheless.

As the video from B/R Open Ice shows, Ovechkin is just not the same this year as in years past. In the video below, he is skate testing and somehow he looks like he's skating uphill in both directions.

This just goes to show you that time moves forward no matter how much you want it to slow down. To compound the harsh reality, new teammate Pierre-Luc Dubois Had fond memories of watching Alex Oveckin in his prime when Dubois was just 7 years old.

Ovechkin is one of if not the greatest goal scorer of all time. Hopefully, he can bounce back from a not so good season last year and prove that even he at 38 years old can turn back the hands of father time.

Either way it has become increasingly evident that Alex Ovechkin's time in the NHL is dwindling. Being able to watch him in the magic he is created for 19 years and counting is a blessing and should be treated as such.

It'll be a sad day when he and Sidney Crosby retire, It will be the sign of another great era of NHL hockey coming to an end. Sidney Crosby and Alex Ovechkin put the NHL on the map in the modern era. We should never take for granted anytime we're able to see them suit up and continue to play hockey at elite level.
