The NHL Department of Player Safety has announced the suspension for Wild Forward Ryan Hartman
Earlier today it was announced that Minnesota Wild Forward Ryan Hartman would have a hearing today for his hit on Nikolaj Ehlers.
Now, a suspension has been announced for Hartman's actions by the NHL DoPs Twitter account, take a look:
Minnesota's Ryan Hartman has been suspended for one game for Interference against Winnipeg's Nikolaj Ehlers.
Hartman was assessed a two minute penalty for interference as a result while Ehlers fell awkwardly to the ice.
Part of the explanation from DoPS was that 1) Hartman passed the puck to a teammate prior to contact to deliver the hit and 2) Ehlers wasn't coming to deliver a hit and thus, Hartman had to take a different path to step in front of Ehlers.
While I agree with the NHL's reasoning for the suspension, it once again leaves me scratching my head as to how they come up with the amount of games.
