Breaking News - Top NHL draft eligible prospect's father found dead
This summer the NHL Draft is scheduled for June 28th and 29th. At the draft Matvei Michkov is expected to be one of the top picks available and has been predicted to go as high as 2nd during this year's draft. The Russian prospect has been likened to Alex Ovechkin for his scoring ability, and obvious Russian connection.
Unfortunately for Michkov the elation and excitement that was building ahead of his NHL Draft has now been overshadowed by a family tragedy. Yesterday reports began to surface that Michkov's father had been reported missing. Today however the news turned much worse as it was officially reported that his father, Andrey had been found deceased.
The search for Andrey Michkov has been stopped. He was found dead. Hockey club "Sochi' brings sincere condolences to the family and friends of Andrey Vladislavovich Michkov. The club will provide the family of Matvey Michkov with all the necessary assistance.
Our thoughts and prayed go out to the Michkov family during this very difficult time.
