With less than twenty seconds left and the Florida Panthers one goal away from a 3-0 comeback in the game, Alex Pietrangelo took a risky penalty for delay of game, and later initiated a brawl.
Pietrangelo's penalty gave the Panthers one final push to tie the game, and although ultimately falling short, had great chances on net, including a flurry of action around the net at the final buzzer.
With a scrum ensuing around the net as the game came to a conclusion, Pietrangelo decided the game wasn't yet over, and immediately left the penalty box to initiate a fight primarily with Matthew Tkachuck, escalating the fighting of everyone else on the ice.
It was a tightly contested finish to a highly competitive game, ending with Vegas holding onto the win to take a stranglehold on the series. As the series shifts back to Vegas, they could clinch their first Stanley Cup, but with the impressive effort of the Panthers to the final second, they still can't be counted out.
