Usually when a player takes a double minor it's due to drawing blood with a high stick. But tonight during a game against the Calgary Flames, forward Ryan Hartman decided to go for the rare two penalties on one play. Now Hartman could be awaiting a call from the NHL Department of Player Safety.
After the whistle Hartman lifts his stick and delivers a very stiff slash directly to the hand of Rasmus Andersson. As the referee prepares to call the first penalty, Hartman then cheapshots Trevor Lewis with a cross check to the face.
Hartman receives a penalty for both slashing and cross checking on the play. It's likely at the very least Hartman will be looking at a fine for his actions, but he could see a suspension for the slash.
