Steve Kozari stretchered off following collision with Haydn Fleury
A scary scene took place in Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon as referee Steve Kozari was stretchered off following a collision.
During the third period of Saturday's game between Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay, Lightning defenceman Haydn Fleury collided with Steve Kozari at center ice and it appeared that the referee was knocked out cold. Medical staff came immediately rushing to the scene to help Kozari.
Eventually, after being down on the ice for several minutes, Kozari was moved to a stretcher and left the game. Both Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay's benches cleared as Kozari was being stretchered off as a sign of support and respect.
Meanwhile, Haydn Fleury went back to the Tampa Bay dressing room following the collision in some pain.
Everyone here at BladeOfSteel sends their best wishes to Steve Kozari and hope to see him back on the ice as soon as possible.
