Alex Ovechkin TKOs JG Pageau with a huge body check, Pageau needs help getting to the bench
Alex Ovechkin is the greatest goal scorer of the modern era, but he's also one of the leagues heaviest hitters as well. Tonight in a game against the New York Islanders, Ovechkin put his checking ability back on full display.
As Islanders JG Pageau attempted to clear the puck from the zone, Ovechkin saw an opportunity to spark his team and closed the gap. Ovechkin delivered the hit along the side boards and it left Pageau shaken. Pageau fell to the ice and struggled to get to his feet.
Pageau was eventually assisted by his teammates to the bench. Pageau would be escorted to the locker room for concussion testing. The referees on the ice reviewed the hit but eventually deemed the hit to be clean. Pageau has not returned to the game since the hit occurred.
