Another player suffers life threatening injuries
This is something you never want to see. Another game was suspended following a scary incident over in Europe where a player was taken to the hospital after crashing into the boards.
Yesterday, in a game between HV71 and Djurgården IF of the SDHL was suspended after Sanni Hakala crashed head first into the goal post; take a look.
The 26 year old Hakala was taken off the ice on a stretcher and taken to the hospital. The extent of her injuries is not yet known although they are very serious.
Collisions happen in the sport of hockey all the time, but at the high rate of speed players skate, any collision or trip can result in serious injury.
Hopefully Hakala is okay, this is something you never want to see under any circumstance.
