It's not news that the Arizona Coyotes are in a rebuilding year, nor that they're the least valuable franchise in the NHL.
But for one of their young defenseman, Jakob Chychrun instead of booing management and the mishandling of the franchise by the GM Bill Armstrong and ownership, they're now booing him.
«Look, the Arizona Coyotes want to trade Jacob Chychrun. Jacob Chychrun has also asked for a trade. The price for the defenceman remains high,» Marek said Saturday during Hockey Night in Canada's 32 Thoughts segment. «It's essentially the equivalent of two first-round draft picks, plus. So, that would be a combination of prospects, picks and players as well.»
The star defenseman has made it known his unhappiness with playing in a rebuilding team, yet the Coyotes have continued despite waning interest to ask a high price to move him.
Given the fact his statistics aren't exactly superstar material, Bill Armstrong continues to shoot himself in the foot keeping the price high.
The defenseman's own decisions have made him unpopular in Mullett Arena, as he was booed on opening night.
Given the fans reaction to Chychrun pulling his own weight to make a trade happen, it doesn't seem likely that the defenseman will choose to stick around any longer than he has to.
