With training camps opening up this week, one new arena will debut to the public that's already been under much scrutiny: the Arizona Coyotes will unveil their new home at Arizona State University.
Now officially owning a seating capacity of 4,700, the arena is by far the smallest in the NHL. Additionally, it was known that splitting their ice with ASU would come with some catches, including the issue of the logo at center ice.
It was initially reported by the Athletic this summer that ASU would insist on painting their logo on Center ice in favour of the Coyotes, but it's now been made public that the Coyotes indeed will be able to paint theirs instead.
It goes without saying that this entire discussion is absurd in the first place. Talking about an NHL team with an arena capacity with under 5,000 fans, unsure of being able to paint their logo at center ice, and even more issues with portable dressing rooms, the Coyotes franchise this year is an absolute embarrassment to the league.
Again, with training camps opening this week, the media should get their first look inside the Mickey Mouse arena. Fans everywhere should be pretty interested to see just how poverty the Coyotes can become.
