During last night's game versus the Tampa Bay Lightning, Auston Matthews delivered what many believe is a controversial hit from behind. Many have deemed this hit as charging, boarding and hitting from behind.
The hit occured in the second period, as Auston Matthews was looking to give his team a spark. After Lightning goalie played the puck around the boards to Mikhail Sergachev, Matthews rounded the night and delivered a solid check to Sergachev.
Sergachev fell to the ice and stayed down for about a minute before getting to his feet. There was no penalty on the play and Sergachev didn't miss a shift.
The Team at "Tough Call" believes that this play deserves a 5-game suspension.
What do you think? Deserve Matthews deserve supplemental discipline for this play?
