Auston Matthews takes shot at Toronto media after overtime victory
The Toronto Maple Leafs are without question one of the hottest teams in the NHL. Since the beginning of November the Leafs are 14-1-4, with points in 14 straight games. But one problem for the Leafs has been their play in overtime.
Heading into last night the Leafs were 1-6 in overtime on the year. The media in Toronto has latched onto this narrative and focused heavily on the Leafs overtime record. So when Mitch Marner scored the game winning goal in overtime, of course the media had questions.
When asked about how it felt to win the game in overtime, Auston Matthews chose to poke fun at the reporters and their constant pressure.
It feels great. Gets you guys off our backs a little bit until the next one.
The Maple Leafs currently sit 2nd in the Atlantic Division and 3rd in the league. With that shifts to the questions of, will this season end differently?
