Blackhawks deal Brandon Hagel to the Tampa Bay Lightning
The Chicago Blackhawks have officially completed the first step in their rebuild as they have announced that they have traded Brandon Hagel to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for what is expected to be an extensive package of picks and prospects.
Hagel is currently in the 1st year of a 3 year contract which pays him $1,500,000 per season. The 23-year old is in his 3rd NHL season and has put up 21 goals and 16 assists in 55 games this season, while playing all 3 forward positions.
This move resembles very closely to the moves made by Tampa Bay when they added Barclay Goodrow and Blake Coleman before winning back-to-back Stanley Cups.
According to Frank Seravalli the package will feature multiple 1st round picks going to Chicago.
