While there's no controversy on the ice, Don Sweeney and Cam Neely plunged the Boston Bruins into murky waters, when they signed Mitchell Miller. The Bruins would end up paying dearly reputation-wise.

Mitchell Miller was signed by the Boston Bruins in November to the dismay of many. He was unceremoniously ushered out of the organization as quickly as he was signed.

After the incident, the Bruins assured fans that an Independent Review of the vetting process would occur. The result found were staggering as the organization claimed there was no misconduct, but there was procedural gaps in vetting.

In the case of Mitchell Miller, those red flags involved findings of prior juvenile misconduct, but there could in the future be circumstances involving other objectionable conduct that could render a prospect ineligible to join the Bruins organization.

While there was "no misconduct" found, the Boston Bruins had to go outside their normal process to find how badly they fumbled the ball when it came to vetting a recruit like Mitchell Miller, one would hope they don't endanger their professional reputation once again after this.
