The Toronto Maple Leafs and young defensemen Rasmus Sandin have been at a standstill for the entire off-season and with the second week of training camp underway, it looks like the two sides may be nearing an agreement that could see the 22 year old on the ice sooner than later.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, he believes the contact situation should be resolved shortly.
Sandin skated in 51 games for the Leafs last season registering 5 goals and 11 assists for just 16 points.
Today the Maple Leafs and Sandin finally agreed to that new deal.
One small difference in the Rasmus Sandin and Timothy Liljegren contracts is the structure.
Sandin's QO in 2024-25 will be $1.6M, while Liljegren's will be $1.5M.
