Breaking News - San Jose Sharks and Detroit Red Wings complete a trade
The NHL Trade Deadline is scheduled for March 3rd, but that hasn't stopped the Detroit Red Wings and San Jose Sharks getting a jump on things. Today the two team completed a minor trade.
The Detroit Red Wings acquire forward Jasper Weatherby from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for forward Kyle Criscuolo.
Weatherby, 24, is a former 4th round pick of the Sharks. The center played 50 games in the NHL last season, but has been unable to crack the NHL lineup this season.
Criscuolo, 30, is a career minor league who has only played 15 NHL games. He last saw NHL action for 6 games last season. It is very likely Criscuolo won't see any time in the NHL, but will provide the Sharks with veteran leadership for their AHL affiliate.
