Breaking News - Shane Wright reportedly traded
After winning a gold medal Shane Wright was rewarded by the Seattle Kraken by being assigned back to the Ontario Hockey League. Wright was drafted 4th overall in last summer's draft and was expected to transition immediately to the NHL. Unfortunately for Wright it hasn't worked that way and Wright has only played 8 NHL games this season.
Wright was sent back to the Kingston Frontenacs but the expectation was Wright wouldn't play a game for the team. Instead Wright was expected to be traded before the OHL Trade Deadline. Many teams were reportedly in the mix including the Ottawa 67s, Peterborough Petes and London Knights.
Now according to Ken Campbell it appears the Knights will be the winners of the Shane Wright Sweepstakes.
Not confirmed, but I'm hearing Shane Wright to the London Knights for defenseman Oliver Bonk and six draft picks. Bonk turns 18 tomorrow. If this is true, Wright will have a very good chance at winning a Memorial Cup during his final Juniors season.
