Calgary Flames finally find out the asking price for Jonathan Huberdeau and Mackenzie Weegar
Per Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman GM Brad Treliving and the Calgary Flames will have an idea on what it's going to cost to keep their newest players' Jonathan Huberdeau and Mackenzie Weegar.
Huberdeau is likely looking at a contract similar to Aleksander Barkovs, around $10MM per year for eight seasons.
As for Weegar, Friedman notes that Mikhail Sergachevs recent $8.5MM AAV deal could be a comparable to what Weegar is looking to when eyeing his next contract.
The Flames currently have $9,300,000 in cap space available and will have some additional money free at the end of the season. Milan Lucic and Sean Monahan will be UFAs and their $5,250,000 and $6,375,000 salaries will be coming off the books.
The Flames will have the space to cover the ask. It will come down to how much Huberdeau and Weegar want to stay in Calgary.
