Canadian player issues statement on World Juniors sexual assault and doesn't deny involvement
Multiple players of the 2003 World Juniors, Team Canada team have issued statements denying their involvement in the alleged event. But for the first time since the investigation was launched a player has issued a statement WITHOUT denying his involvement. This marks the first player of either the 2003 or 2018 to not deny involvement.
Scottie Upshall took to his Twitter account to share the following comments.
I fully support thorough investigations by the police and the NHL into the claims made in the media yesterday about Canada's 2003 World Juniors team.
Scottie Upshall was the Captain of the 2003 Team and has been pointed out by many this comment is not a denial of his involvement. When compared to the other issued statements this statement does not so anything to make anyone believe a lack of involvement.
Upshall played in 759 career NHL games for 6 different NHL teams. Over his career he scored 138 goals and added 147 assists.
