The Vancouver Canucks have jumped back into the trade activity acquiring defenseman Filip Hronek and Detroit's 2023 4th round pick in exchange for the conditional 1st round draft pick acquired in the Bo Horvat trade with the New York Islanders and Vancouver's 2nd rd pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

Hronek left last nights against the Ottawa Senators after eight minutes of ice time with with an upper-body injury. Red Wings head coach Derek Lalonde explained that Hronek had already entered the contest with an upper-body injury, so he could have aggravated something. However it did not stop the Canucks from acquiring him.

The 25 year old is having a career season so far scoring 9 goals and 38 points in 60 games played. Hronek is signed until the end of the 2023-2024 season at a cap hit of $4,400,000 and will be an RFA with arbitration rights at the end of the contract.
