With the Chicago Blackhawks kickstarting the rebuild during the NHL draft, two of their former stars are now on the block. It seems as if both Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews may wish to not remain with the team during a rebuild.
NHL Insider David Pagnotta mentioned on The Fourth Period that Toronto, Edmonton, Dallas, Colorado, and both New York teams were inquiring about Kane's services.
If Kane is gone by the trade deadline, it'd make the most sense that it'd be a team in on the winger going back to last season. The question is with teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs, Edmonton Oilers, and the New York Rangers, what will it take to make the salary cap work?
Patrick Kane wasn't ready to be moved last season, but the question is what will it take for him to waive his no movement clause? Kane has full control of where he does so it'll be interesting to see which contender he feels gives him the best chance to win another Stanley Cup.
