Claude Giroux chirps the Toronto Maple Leafs star players
When Free Agency opened Claude Giroux made the decision to sign with his hometown team the Ottawa Senators. After spending his entire career with the Philadelphia Flyers, Giroux was traded to the Florida Panthers at last season's deadline. Unfortunately for the Panthers they were unable to get Giroux his long sought after Stanley Cup, being eliminated in the second round by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Now Giroux looks to bring some much needed leadership to the Senators as they look to get back into the playoffs after a 5 season drought. During media availability Giroux was asked a question about the rival tournament Maple Leafs and Giroux took the chance to throw some shade.
Friedman asked Giroux on 32T, who outscores who: Matthews, Bunting, Marner, or Stützle, Giroux, Debrincat?
Giroux said: "Plus minus, or outscores? I guess we'll have to wait and see"
Battle of Ontario is going to be fun again.
Last season the Senators missed the playoffs by 27 points and will look to overcome that gap. But it's probably a little premature for the Senators to try and compete directly with the Maple Leafs. But in less than two weeks we'll get to find out how Pierre Dorion's acquisitions off the ice will perform on it.
