Moments after Mike Babcock resigned as coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets, the club had wasted no time in naming his replacement. Something that a lot of people were wondering about with training camp right around the corner.
According to Daily Faceoff's Frank Seravalli, the Blue Jackets have named Pascal Vincent their new head coach; take a look.
#CBJ have named Pascal Vincent head coach with Babcock's official resignation.
Vincent, 51, has a wealth of coaching experience outside of the NHL level having coached in the QMJHL and AHL for long periods of time, earning high honours for his work at both levels.
Most recently Vincent was the head coach of the Manitoba Moose from 2016-2021.
It looks like this may have been in the works for some time as it isn't usual for a coach to step down and another one to take his place right away.
