Nothing better than #HockeyHandshakes 🤝 #StanleyCup pic.twitter.com/EeByS0yjy2 NHL (@NHL) June 7, 2022
This post season has been McDavid's most productive yet. He put up 10 goals, 23 assists, and had a +15 rating in 16 games.
Now obviously, getting swept is definitely the worst feeling ever when it comes to the Stanley Cup Playoffs. McDavid clearly looks disappointed for falling short once again, but saying he couldn't care less for the handshake tradition is a little far fetched. He just had his childhood dream taken away from him, of course he'd like to be somewhere else rather than shaking hands with the team that just swept them. He still showed great strength and force of character shaking the hands with the players from Colorado.
This off-season, we will see his true force of character as a leader and team player. What happens from onwards will be his legacy. WIll he stay put in Edmonton, or can we see another Gretzky saga all over again?
