Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres make a trade
With the NHL roster freeze set to start next week, the Dallas Stars and Buffalo Sabres got a head start making a trade. Tonight the Stars announced that the club had traded defenseman Joseph Cecconi in exchange for Oskari Laaksonen.
Laaksonen, 23, had played 10 games with the Rochester Americans this season, scoring two assists and notching a +1 rating. Laaksonen was selected 89th overall by Buffalo in the 2017 NHL Draft. the 6'2, 185 lbs. defender has appeared in 109 career AHL games. He has registered 7 goals and 46 assists.
Cecconi, 25, has two points this year in 12 games with Texas this season. Cecconi was selected 133rd overall by the Stars in the 2015 Draft. Both players have been assigned to their respective AHL teams.
