Daniel Alfredsson lands first coaching job as another coach is fired
It seemed like only a matter of time, but today the other shoe finally dropped in the Nations Capital. Today it was announced that the Ottawa Senators had officially fired DJ Smith as Head Coach.
The #sens have fired head coach D.J. Smith and replaced him with Jacques Martin on an interim basis.
Daniel Alfredsson has been named an assistant coach
The Senators also relieved a member of Smith's coaching staff.
#Sens also fired assistant coach Davis Payne.
After hiring Martin last week as a special advisor it seemed like only a matter of time before Smith would be out the door and after losing 4 games in a row, enough was enough.
