Evander Kane shares if he'd be willing to return to Edmonton
Edmonton "lucked" into Evander Kane as he was on the outs with the San Jose Sharks organization, when the club terminated his contract in January. On the 10th, they filed a grievance after his 7-year contract, with a total of $49 million overall compensation terminated.
A little over two weeks later on the 27th, the Oilers signed Kane, for a 1-year deal, with a $1 million value.
At the end of the season, he becomes a UFA, and after his 1 game suspension his season ended, with no set deal, but according to Jason Gregor it sounds like he would like to return to Edmonton.
His teammates also spoke highly of his contribution to the team:
"He revamped the top six,» Zach Hyman said of the addition of Kane in January. «Just a massive addition.» It seems as if after his early-season issues, Kane may have found a home in Edmonton, but the question is if Ken Holland feels the same? The Oilers are in winning mode, they just need to address defense and goal-tending. Letting Kane go, would lose a competitive piece go.
Oilers would be letting 56 points walk and for a team without stable pieces elsewhere, may be a mistake.
