Fans are furious after NHL Department of Player Safety announces a soft punishment for Mikhail Sergachev
In the 3rd period of last night's game between the Tampa Bay Lightning and Vancouver Canucks, Mikhail Sergachev delivered a hard right hand to the face of Conor Garland. The blow happened after the two had been separated, but somehow the referees didn't see a penalty on the play.
Today NHL Player Safety announced a punishment for Sergachev on the play.
Tampa Bay's Mikhail Sergachev has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for Roughing Vancouver's Conor Garland.
Fans immediately reacted to this decision, with one even pointing out the extent of the fines Sergachev has received.
