Ryan Lomberg of the Florida Panthers was up to his usual antics when the Panthers took on the Seattle Kraken yesterday. However, sometimes the hard-nosed forward doesn't know where to draw the line.
After getting tangled up with Seattle defender Justin Schultz midway through the 3rd period of last night's game, Lomberg couldn't keep his emotions in check and hit Schultz from behind: take a look:
Good lord! Just an awful hit by Lomberg on Schultz in retaliation after Schultz had gotten tangled with him seconds earlier.
Lomberg gets a 5-minute major and a game misconduct. #SeaKraken
Seattle was quick to come to the veteran defensemen's aid as he lay in the corner. Lomberg was assessed a 5 minute major and a game misconduct on the play.
I know sometimes your emotions get the best of you, but Lomberg has to think of the situation, you're down 3-1 with 8:01 left to play, you cannot make that hit. All it does is torpedo your chances of getting back in the game.
