Former 1st round picks team is demanding the General Manager trades him or else
It takes a lot to upset an entire locker room, but that's exactly what one former NHLer has managed to do. According to sources Jake Virtanen, who was released by the Vancouver Canucks after the 2020-2021 season is reportedly on the outs with his current team in the Swiss Division 2 League.
Jake Virtanen on the outs in Swiss Div 2 league. Got into a scrap with the top Dman on their team (Daniel Eigenmann) who turned to management and said «it's him or us». Virtanen's since been scratched in back-to-back games and his team won both.
After playing in the KHL last season with Moscow Spartak, Virtanen is currently playing for Visp EHC.
Reports have surfaced that the defenceman scrapped with top Defenceman Daniel Eigenmann during a recent practice.
Eigegmann who is the top rearguard for EHC reportedly went to management after the altercation and said «It's either him or us».
In twenty-one games, Virtanen has contributed with fifteen goals, and ten assists for twenty-five points. He's also sat in the penalty box for forty-four minutes.
Of note, Virtanen has been scratched in back-to-back games since the incident; his team has won both.
