Former 2nd round pick placed on waivers
The San Jose Sharks appear poised to be entering a rebuild in the very near future. The Sharks sit 6th in the Pacific Division and have missed the playoffs the last 3 years. Today the Sharks announced they have placed veteran defenseman, Scott Harrington on waivers.
Harrington signed with the Sharks back in December, but has only played 2 games for the club. He has 1 assist this season. San Jose will look to demote Harrington to their AHL affiliate should be clear waivers.
Harrington has a salary or $750,000 per year and could be a potential waiver target of a team looking for defensive depth. Harrington was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2011 NHL Draft 54th overall.
