The Jesse Puljujarvi experiment is coming to an end in Edmonton. The 24-year-old who was drafted fourth overall in the 2016 National Hockey League Entry Draft is expected to be placed on waivers once Right Winger Kailer Yamamoto is healthy.
Puljujarvi who has had two different stints in the National Hockey League has played 308 games with Edmonton. During his career, he's contributed 50 goals along with 58 assists and 102 penalty minutes.
During a year and a half absence from the National Hockey League, Puljujarvi played parts of two seasons back in Sweden in SM-Liga for Karpat. During his time at Karpat in 72 games he had 31 goals and 34 assists.
Puljarvi is part of a long list of first-round picks that the Oilers have made in the last fifteen years that have either not panned out or more accurately thrived after being moved.
One would believe that once Puljujarvi clears waivers he'll likely ask for his release and go back to his native Sweden.
