P.K Subban was once one of the most polarizing figures in all of hockey, playing with the Montreal Canadiens. When he was traded to the Nashville Predators in June 29th, 2016, it was a shock to fas alike around the sport.

Now, according to former Canadiens forward Georges Laraque, the reason he was traded was because of locker room tensions.

Laraque goes on to explain that the main reasons behind the block buster deal that sent Subban to the Western Conference were two players Max Pacioretty and Brenden Gallagher.

The reason why P.K Subban got traded is because of two players, Max Pacioretty and Brandan Gallagher.

Brendan Gallagher really did not like Subban at all. PK. Subban knew that Gallagher didn't like him.

In the locker room, Pacio and Gally really didn't like him. They would go see the GM Marc Bergevin and tell him we want him out.

The only reason the Canadiens could have kept Subban is if they traded Pacioretty and Gallagher.

It sounds like there were a lot of things going on behind the scenes in order to make this deal would be to keep 2 players instead of Subban. However, one could argue that at the time of the trade, Subban was more valuable than both. Especially considering not to long Pacioretty would join the Vegas Golden Knights for the 2018-19 season.
