Gary Bettman was hired by the National Hockey League's owners on February 1st, 1993 and has been the Commissioner of the league ever since. Since taking over the job, Bettman has expanded the league from 24 teams all the way up to 32 teams and has turned the NHL into a billion dollar entity. Along the way though Bettman has managed to irk fans along the way through work stoppages, salary caps and most recently digital advertisements.
Today Gary Bettman has arrived in Montreal and will be in attendance for tonight's game between the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens. Bettman taking in NHL games isn't unusual, but today Bettman announced a surprising press conference for tonight ahead of the game.
