Goalie gets TKO'D during ECHL goalie tilt
The ECHL is one of the toughest pro hockey leagues in North America. Known for its tendency to turn games violent, the ECHL isn't for players who aren't up for a fight.
Last night, when the Fort Wayne Komets took on the Wheeling Nailers, tensions were high and as the 3rd period was winding down, the two goaltenders decided they wanted a little bit of the action and squared off, take a look:
Ryan Fanti of the Comets and Brad Barone of the Nailers decided to throw down. With Fanti catching Barond before the two even tie up with a left and then a right. Barone seems to be out on his feet and before long Fanti ends the fight with a few uppercuts and the eventual take down.
I don't think I've ever seen a goalie fight so one sided before in my life. It was over before it even started. If you didn't know who Ryan Fanti was before, you know who he is now.
The ECHL isn't for someone who doesn't like fighting, however, for those that do, at times, it can really be a throwback league.
