It wasn't the season the Vancouver Canucks nor their fans were hoping for. After so much hope heading into the 2022 NHL season the Canucks felt they had everything in place to succeed and make the playoffs from world class offense with Bo Horvat, Eilas Pettersson and Brock Boeser, to Quinn Hughes on defence and one of the best new goaltenders in the league in Thatcher Demko.
The Canucks just couldn't put it together and after a terrible start to the season the fans in Vancouver were demanding change. The Canucks Ownership agreed firing GM Jim Benning and head coach Travis Green. The Canucks would hire Patrick Alvin as the new General Manager and more importantly Bruce Boudreau as the Canucks new head coach.
