High school player makes one of the worst plays you'll see all year
Hockey is probably the most difficult sport to play in the world. You have to be able to shoot, pass and play defense, all while wearing swords on your feet. So while we don't want to take away from anyone who plays the games we wanted to share this absolutely awful play by a high school player.
As the defender chases the puck off the end boards he chose to bend over and swat the puck with his hand. A bold choice because simply playing it into the corner on his backhand would have been far more effective.
But instead he hits the puck with his hand towards his own goal. With his goalie out of position this left the puck wide open for the other team to score the game winning overtime goal.
This brutal play is clearly a brain fart and the player must feel awful for it, but what was he thinking?
