Hot mic captures referee giving Edmonton Oilers forward a hilarious warning
Every once and awhile an NHL microphone captures something hilarious on the broadcast. Usually on ice officials are good at covering the microphones and turning them off and on as they communicate with players. Last night though, a referee hilarious warned Edmonton Oilers' Kailer Yamamoto as he headed to the penalty box.
After Yamamoto was called for holding, he proceeded towards the penalty box unhappy with the call. As he approached the referee who made the call, the referee offered this hilarious warning.
Watch, I'm wearing a mic. Better be careful what you say.
This is one of the funnier moments captured on a hot mic this season. Yamamoto would receive another 2 minute penalty moments later, but he was a lot less talkative after that call. The Blues would go on to win in a shootout.
