Insider believes Mike Babcock could be fired after evidence surfaces in investigation
Earlier this week it seemed like the investigation into Mike Babcock would go nowhere. The Blue Jackets issued a statement on behalf of the team throwing their support behind their head coach. While it seems the investigation was over on Wednesday today, that is not the case.
The NHL and NHLPA are set to meet today in New York to discuss the findings in the Mike Babcock case. While some players threw public support behind their coach, behind closed doors another story was told. This brought forth Marty Walsh and Ron Hainsey in defense of the players.
According to multiple reports younger players on the team felt pressured into sharing their devices and felt overly uncomfortable with the entire situation.
Now according to Darren Dreger there is now a chance that Babcock could see himself terminated as head coach of the Blue Jackets. On a radio appearance this morning he shared the following details.
Based on the information that has been discovered and percolated to the surface in the last 48 hours, I think there's a chance Babcock's job could be in question... I'm not reporting or predicting it's going to happen, but there's a chance that happens.
If the NHLPA decides to put additional pressure on this situation, this could mark the end of the of Mike Babcock's career. Surely no team will take a chance on the veteran if this situation turns out to be as bad as some believe it is.
