The National Hockey League's 2023-24 season is nearly two months old and there's still some well-known free agents on the market.
Among those are Phil Kessel, Ethan Bear and former fourth overall pick Jesse Puljujarvi.
On Friday, TSN's Chris Johnston provided a big update on Jesse Puljujarvi, who had off-season double hip surgery. Johnson said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that Puljujarvi has been cleared by doctors for full contact.
"At the end of a week where NHLers with hip-related ailments were in the spotlight, there is word that Jesse Puljujärvi has been cleared by doctors for full-contact training.
He's working his way back from a bilateral hip resurfacing last summer and remains a free agent."
The 25-year-old spent time with the Edmonton Oilers and Carolina Hurricanes last season, putting up 16 points (five goals, 11 assists), 32 penalty minutes and was a minus-13 in 75 games.
Do you think Jesse Puljujarvi will play in the National Hockey League this season or will he head back to Europe? Let us know what you think in the poll below!
