Jack Campbell's asking price is absolutely ridiculous
The Toronto Maple Leafs may be in the market for two goaltenders this off-season. It sounds as if Jack Campbell, Toronto's starter last year and the brass of the Leafs are too far apart in terms of value.
According to Chris Johnston of TSN, Campbell's camp is looking for a 3 year deal work north of $5,000,000 a season, which Johnston says may be too rich for the Leafs to pay.
This likely means Toronto is in the market for two goaltenders this off-season as there have also been reports that they're looking to get rid of Petr Mrazek.
Is this the end for Soup in Leaf land? Unfortunately, it's looking that way.
Campbell, 30, had a pretty solid season considering he was plagued by a rib injury for the better part of the year outside of the first three months, posting a 31-9-6 record with 5 shutouts, a .914 save percentage and a 2.64 goals-against-average
